Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair

You arrive at Jabberwock Island with your classmates from Hope's Peak Academy for what should be a relaxing school trip, only to have the bear Monokuma appear and trap everyone in a deadly game. When murders begin occurring among the students, your only path to freedom lies in investigating each crime scene, gathering evidence, and participating in class trials to determine who the killer is.

The core gameplay loop involves exploring the island to find clues, talking to your classmates to uncover their alibis and motives, and then confronting the suspected murderer during intense trial sequences. These trials employ various minigames where you must shoot down false arguments with contradictory evidence, and participate in one-on-one confrontations called Rebuttal Showdowns to defend your deductions. The game challenges you to match evidence against testimonies and use timing and reflex-based mechanics to expose the truth before an innocent person is wrongly condemned.

Survival depends on correctly identifying the real culprit in each case. As classmates are eliminated one by one, the mystery deepens and the stakes grow higher, driving the narrative forward through a combination of detective work and dramatic courtroom-style confrontations.
