Aftershift: the Post-TF game

Aftershift is a Unity-based transformation simulator that allows players to experience different creature forms throughout the game without encountering traditional game-over mechanics. Players can transform into various entities including rubber wolves, pig drones, dragon pool toys, and gelatinous slimes, each offering unique interactions and gameplay possibilities.

The core gameplay loop involves exploring a dynamic laboratory environment that changes based on the player's current form. Players navigate through areas filled with puzzles designed around their creature's abilities, using their transformed body mechanics to solve challenges and discover alternative paths. The game rewards exploration, with hidden side areas, backtracking opportunities, and collectible items scattered throughout.

Key mechanics include form-specific actions such as vocalizations, physical transformations like inflation and weight gain, spreading substances, and interacting with other creatures. Players can choose to embrace their transformations permanently, resist them, or revert to previous forms, giving agency to how they experience the narrative. Customization options allow players to adjust visual effects, toggle content warnings, and switch between metric and imperial units. The game features optional subscriber voting on future development directions while maintaining free access for all players.
