Blood Wine: Astringency

Blood Wine: Astringency is a short kinetic visual novel that explores themes of apathy, addiction, and transgressive intimacy. The narrative centers on the encounter between a lonely bartender and a girl who exists in a legally dead state, their connection forged through increasingly perverse and harmful dynamics that both characters actively desire. Rather than offering traditional redemption, the game examines how destructive intoxication—both literal and emotional—can paradoxically become the mechanism through which two disconnected people find purpose and connection. The story unfolds without player agency; there are no branching choices, placing the player in the role of observer to an intimate, uncomfortable narrative. With approximately 14,000 words of content, seven CGs, and a focus on toxic yuri themes, the game positions itself as an intentionally provocative exploration of desire outside conventional boundaries.
