The protagonist is Spire, a young jackal man accompanied by Damon, an invisible friend who proves to be far more real than expected.

The core premise revolves around a supernatural deadline: newly arrived souls must surrender their hearts within 100 hours of arrival or face complete erasure from existence. Spire grapples with existential uncertainty, questioning whether he truly wants eternal life while carrying his emotional baggage.
