Prince Nikolai and the Vampires is a tactical strategy RPG inspired by the classic Shining Force and Fire Emblem formula. You take control of Prince Nikolai, a powerful priest capable of harnessing both solar and lunar magic, as he assembles a band of diverse heroes to confront the ambitious vampire lord Zarius and protect his realm from destruction.

The game features 23 progressively challenging battles across a campaign lasting approximately 20 hours. You'll manage 11 playable characters, each with distinct abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. Combat emphasizes pure tactical depth—damage is calculated and displayed before you commit to actions, with minimal randomness, ensuring strategy is paramount. Position your units carefully to gain directional bonuses: attacking from behind grants 30% extra damage, while flanking provides 10% additional damage.

Character skills evolve through use, advancing to Levels 2 and 3 and allowing for unlimited strategic combinations. The game includes adjustable battle animation speeds and a New Game+ mode that increases difficulty while providing greater experience rewards for faster completion.
