Tokyo Valkyries

Tokyo Valkyries is a roguelite deckbuilder that combines strategic deck construction with turn-based card combat. Players assume the role of university students by day who transform into warriors by night to defend Tokyo from an interdimensional threat called the Underworld. A dark spirit named Belzebia has created this pocket dimension as a staging ground for invasion, and only a group of chosen girls stand between humanity and annihilation.

Combat operates on a turn-based system where players draw cards corresponding to four attributes—Resolve, Courage, Hope, and Dawn—each tied to specific party members. Before committing actions, players can see enemy intentions, allowing them to decide between offensive strikes or defensive strategies. The gameplay loop involves navigating a procedurally-ordered map with varied tiles: standard battles, elite encounters, shops, cafes for recovery, random reward lockers, story events, and boss encounters guarding Cursed Swords.

A unique mechanic involves pulling Cursed Swords from defeated bosses to seal the Underworld and unlock enhanced abilities for party members. Successfully extracted swords grant characters additional attributes and unlock powerful leader abilities. Victory depends on synergizing party composition with carefully curated deck choices made throughout each run.
