Starmaker Story follows Anna, who turns to a social media platform called Starmaker after a work crisis. The game gives you significant agency in shaping her trajectory and personality as she builds her public presence and intimate relationship with you. You can guide her toward becoming a deeply devoted partner or encourage her to embrace a more adventurous, spotlight-seeking persona. The experience extends beyond traditional visual novel storytelling with a variety of gameplay mechanics. You earn experience points by taking photographs and completing quests throughout the game. Progression systems include vacation trips, outfit unlocks, equipment upgrades, and skill point allocation across three distinct skill trees. Minigames provide additional variety, featuring activities like motorbike racing, tower defense scenarios, and turn-based RPG-style encounters. As you progress through Peak City, you make strategic decisions about your lifestyle and relationships, including whether to build an exclusive arrangement or pursue a more open dynamic with multiple partners. Moral choices also emerge, allowing you to play as a charismatic mentor figure or a manipulative power player willing to engage with morally questionable characters to advance your goals.
