VanySlash is an action RPG centered on Vany, a close-combat magic-user, and her companion weapon, the axe Magnus III. The game emphasizes character interaction and progression through quest-based exploration. Players customize Vany's equipment at the base bar before embarking on story-driven quests that advance the narrative while providing new costumes and accessories as rewards.

The gameplay loop involves collecting magical tools to enhance both Vany's abilities and Magnus's capabilities, with progression tracked through experience and in-game currency earned during combat and exploration. A customization system offers seven slots for costumes and accessories, ranging from stylish to combat-focused appearances, allowing players to experiment with different looks.

Beyond the main story quests, free quests are available for grinding experience, earning money, and testing new outfits and action combinations.
